If you have not seen the movie Kick-Ass by now you should scrounge up the change and get down to the theater real soon. It was a pretty good movie as far as the action/comedy genre goes. The creator of Kick-Ass, Mark Millar, has stated that here will be a comic book series coming out in the UK soon. It will be featured in CLiNT magazine, what ever the hell that is.

The comic book will obviously play off of the first movie and will be the basis of the second movie, “Kick-Ass: Balls to the Wall”. The only crappy thing about the whole situation is that the comic book will almost be exclusively targeted towards a UK audience. Now this is generally not a bad thing but when such a HUGE audience is in the states or even other parts the world it is almost as if they are shooting themselves in the foot on this one.

The production for “Kick-Ass: Balls to the Wall” has been scheduled for next years and will be released in theaters in 2012. The director will obviously be Matthew Vaughn which has been quoted:

‘Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall’ has been scheduled for production in 2011 for a 2012 cinema release, but fans of the first movie can find out what happens two years in advance by picking up CLiNT.”

If you have seen the first film you know what type of things to happen in the second film. Actually if you have ready any comic books or seen any comic book based movies in the past 40 years you will know what type of film to expect. It is quite cliche but hopefully the jokes and actors can pull a lame script in to something that will explode when it hits theaters in 2012. Expect the same core group of actors in this one as the first one, which include: Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Chloe Moretz.

Avatar 2 on the Way and Theatrical Re-Release of Avatar

Posted by Ross | Posted in Movie News | Posted on 21-04-2010

Avatar PosterYes that is correct there will be an Avatar 2. There is no set date to when the movie will be coming out if at all anywhere in the near future but it will be coming out. James Cameron has been caught talking about the second film recently. He had mentioned that the film will not be focused on the rain forest setting that we are all familiar with but more on the marine life on Pandora. Along with that he has also mentioned that the film is basically setting up for a third one. What does that mean for us? Well it means that it will be a piece of shit. Ohh yeah, did I mention he was going to try to do it with less than half the original budget and half the time frame as the first?

Historically from my point of view second films that set up for a third and done with a smaller budget just come out like crap. There always seems to be to much back fill to the movie and people just get lost in all the random information being thrown at them. I know story is important but the only real reason people see this crap is for the special effects and action. Seriously, how deep is the average avatar fan?

Straight from the horses’ mouth:

“We created a broad canvas for the environment of film.  That’s not just on Pandora, but throughout the Aplha Centauri AB system.  And we expand out across that system and incorporate more into the story – not necessarily in the second film, but more toward a third film.  I’ve already announced this, so I might as well say it: Part of my focus in the second film is in creating a different environment – a different setting within Pandora. And I’m going to be focusing on the ocean on Pandora, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won’t be a rain forest. I’m not saying we won’t see what we’ve already seen; we’ll see more of that as well.”

Now about this Avatar theatrical re-release. It is supposed to be an EXTENDED version by 6 MINS! Yes that is correct they are re-releasing it based on 6 mins. I understand that some people did not get to see it in theater or want to see the movie again but really do they need to put this in the theater again? You can expect people will be cramming in line willing to give up their hard earned $14 to see this movie, just to see those elusive 6 mins. This is scheduled to be coming out towards the end of summer. Cameron also did mention that part of the reason it was coming back to theatres was because the movie was moved out of the box office due to other 3-D movies coming out, i.e. Clash of the Titans (Dumb Movie).

One more note, Avatar will be coming out on Blu-Ray and DVD tomorrow April 22, 2010 EARTH DAY! There is also a special edition 4-disc set that will be coming out but not until around November, which I am sure will have those dumb 6 mins.
