Kick-Ass 2010
I am pretty sure that someone had shown me the trailer for this movie a LONG time ago but I had brushed it off. Watching another trailer about a month before this movie came out, I started to get excited. This was one of the few movies that I really wanted to watch and anticipated so far this year. It just looked funny and that is what exactly what I had not seen in a while.
Kick-Ass kind of drags a bit at the beginning of the movie and really starts to nag on your patience for something interesting to happen. Although the movie has a slightly slow start once the action happens it starts to move pretty fast. Knowing that the movie was built around a super hero persona I knew that they would start to move things similar to a comic book. Well that is pretty much exactly what they did, whether it be the action or the story it was all tied to those roots.
The action in Kick-Ass was pretty good for an action comedy. One of the things that stood out to me about the action was the difference between the main character, Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), and the other 2 “super heroes”, Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz) and Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage). While Dave Lizewski was basically some nerd that had nothing better to do than be a nerd he was really just that some kid trying to Kick some Ass. While he tried, he just ends up getting his ass kicked. Then you have Hit Girl and Big Daddy which are really just normal people but in the movie they seem to have skills that only a comic book hero would have. The one thing that about the general feel of the movie and how the action plays out, it reminded me of Pineapple Express.
The comedy in the movie was pretty funny. Though not exactly the funniest in the world it did make you laugh. It falls to the side when the action parts of the movie pick up or when an important part in the story is trying to poke it’s head through. I would not say it was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen but it was totally worth the watch for the comedy and action.
If you know me, you know that I really do not like Nicolas Cage. The guy has not turned a good movie out since Con Air or Faceoff. He plays in shit movies and his acting reflects this. With saying that, I have to say that with out him being a main character in the movie he did a decent job in this movie. He still sucked though, but that is my opinion.
As always go see Kick-Ass yourself. Make sure you do not go in to this movie expecting to be slapping your knees the whole time or gripping the seat because of the action. Overall you will be pleased.

Cop Out 2010
Have you ever watched the trailer or a TV spot for a movies and thought the movie was hella funny only to find out that all the funny parts were in the previews? Well Cop Out is not exactly that movie. Though there are funny parts in the previews, there is a wealth of good comedy in just about every scene that Tracy Morgan in involved in.
I am not sure why the hell Tracy Morgan is so funny but he just comes up some of the funniest shit in the world. You can totally tell that he improved quite a few parts in this movies and to be honest he made the movie. You also have Bruce Willis, which did a decent job, that was just not really funny. He did a good job with the acting but he just did not take it to the next level with any sort of comedy. Now the guy that I thought did his best job in just about any movie he has been in had to be Sean William Scott. This guy was just plain hilarious. By far I thought he did an amazing job for the little part that he did in this movie. Him and Tracy Morgan feed off of each other flawlessly.
The movie itself was not horrible but it just was not that great. There was a part towards the middle that was editted like shit. Not sure what director Kevin Smith was thinking with that part in the movie but it looked like it was from a straight to DVD movie or even a Lifetime movie. The story moved pretty smooth but fell stale when some characters were not involved, i.e. Tracy Morgan. This movie was held up by the comedy involved and brought down by the lame action and the smirk that Bruce Willis has on his face the whole movie, like he is the shit or something.
As always go see it for yourself. Form your own opinion on the movie. I have heard everything from the jokes in the movie sucked and the action was awesome. Obviously I think those people straight retarded but what does it matter what I think?

The Bounty Hunter 2010
I am really surprised that they got Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston to do this movie. I understand it was a “safe” movie for them to do but it flopped anyways. Now do not get me wrong it is not that they are bad actors or anything because they did do a really good job. It was just that the story is sooo cliche and sooo boring. There just is no value behind the movie. It is the typical romantic comedy.
What I did like about the movie was Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston. I mean you have this kick ass dude that just destroyed dudes in 300 and turns around to play a lovable teddy bear. This guy has amazing talents. The really really funny that I have noticed and it might just be me but he does an action flick and them does a romantic comedy flick. Not sure if anyone else has noticed but to me that is what I see. Please call me out if I am wrong. Then we have Jennifer Aniston which really does nothing these days but is so FINE. She really gets in to this character but as she starts to do a good job in the movie it seems like she is distracted by something. Almost as if she was too good for this type of thing.
Taking in the consideration of this bad ass dude and this fine chick, that was really the only thing holding The Bounty Hunter up. Not only was it filled with no names and a sort of retarded story line, it had also flopped pretty hard. I really think this movie would have been better off with a little bit more uniqueness and a with no name actors or some people in the ‘B’ or ‘C’ area. Regardless I am sure they just wanted to make money on this one, so they pushed it out like a bad turd.
As always please, I beg you, go make your own god damn mind up about this movie. I do not care that I even thought that it was shit but if you are 14 year old girl that is brainless as shit or a person that has no depth in movies you might like it.
